Acclaimed Danish architect Bjarke Ingels is behind the design of the LEGO House, an experience centre set to open to the public on 28 September 2017.

Known as “Home of the Brick”, the building is made up of 21 large white bricks topped off by the “keystone”, a replica 2×4 LEGO brick.

Located in Billund, Denmark, the town where LEGO was invented, the space features three restaurants, a 2 000 square-metre public square, conference facilities, a shop, four colour-coded play zones and a gallery.

“Everything is very iconically designed as a LEGO brick,” says Søren Holm, Head of Experience at the LEGO House. “The brick is the dominant factor in the design of everything.”

LEGO recently released a drone video showcasing the simplicity of the stacked design with its playful colourful accents, which you can see above.

In celebration of the opening, LEGO will also be releasing a 774-piece replica that you can build yourself.
